Extinguishing Media – Dry chemical, foam carbon dioxide.

Special Fire Fighting Procedures – Shut off source to prevent spreading.  Wear self-contained breathing apparatus when fighting fires.  Shut off all sources of ignition.  Keep exposed containers cool with water to prevent rupture.

Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards – Mixtures with air are highly flammable.  Vapors are heavier than air and may travel long distances to ignition sources (open flames, glowing metal surfaces).  Containers may rupture when exposed to extreme heat.

Signs and Symptoms of Exposure:

Eyes— May cause mild irritation.  Direct contact with the liquid of exposure to vapors or mist may cause stinging, tearing and redness.  Propellant may cause freeze burns.

Skin—Liquid may cause mild irritation (defatting, dermatitis).  May cause frostbite if exposed to direct spray.  Warm skin slowly if frostbitten.

Inhalation— Breathing of vapors or mists produced under certain conditions of use may cause irritation of the nose, throat and respiratory tract headache and drowsiness.

Ingestion— Not likely as an aerosol but, if swallowed, effects of overexposure may include irritation of the digestive tract, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, visual disturbances, nervous system depression, kidney damage, coma and convulsions.

Systemic and Other Effects– Person with pre-existing skin disorders may be more susceptible to the effects of this material.  Diethylene Glycol., a component of ethylene glycol, has caused liver and kidney damage in long-term studies on laboratory animals.  Ethylene Glycol may cause birth defects based on tests with laboratory animals.

Emergency and First Aid Procedures.

Eyes— Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water 15 minutes, lifting both upper and lower eyelids.  If irritation or redness develops seek medical attention.

Skin— Remove contaminated clothing.  Wash skin with soap and water thoroughly.  If irritation or redness develops and persists, seek medical attention.

Inhalation— If respiratory symptoms develop, remove to fresh air.  If not breathing, give artificial respiration.  If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.  Seek medical attention immediately.  If irritation develops seek medical attention.

Ingestion— Ingestion is not likely but, if swallowed, Seek immediate medical attention.  Do not induce vomiting.

Section VII – Precautions For Safe Handling and Use

Steps to be Taken in Case Material is Released or Spilled.

Ventilate area, especially low places where heavy vapors might collect.  Remove open flames.  Comply with federal, state and local regulations on reporting releases.  Self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) is required if a large spill or release occurs.

Waste Disposal Method – Absorb on clay, vermiculite or other absorbent material and place into a approved D.O.T. container for disposal in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Precautions to be Taken in Handling and Storing –

When product has been dispersed into a tire the user must ALERT the repairman that this tire contains a highly flammable gas.  This product comes equipped with peel-off warning sticker that must be placed on the tire after the Inflator has been used.  Avoid sparks and open flames, use extreme caution when venting gas.  DO NOT weld on rim or use tire reamer until tire is removed from rim.  Store in tightly sealed containers.  Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated area.  Protect containers from physical damage.  Keep away from heat, sparks and open flames.  Do not get in eyes, on skin or clothing.  Do not breathe vapor, mist, or gas.  Do not store or transfer to an unmarked container in trash compactor.  Do not reuse container.  Do not store in direct sunlight.  Store containers below 120°F.  Wash thoroughly after using this product.  Read label before using.

Section VIII – Control Measures

Respiratory Protection (Specify Type) –

Supplied air or SCBA in case of release or fire.

Ventilation

Local point exhaust sufficient.

Protective Gloves –

Any non-permeable rubber gloves (latex or neoprene).

Eye Protection –

Chemical splash goggles or safety glasses with side shields.

Other protective Clothing or Equipment – Non-permeable clothing to protect all skin from liquid contact.

Work/Hygienic Practices – Observe good hygiene.  Wash hands thoroughly after eating, drinking, and using restrooms, etc. Do not smoke while using.
