Signs and Symptoms of Exposure:

Eyes—Irritation.

Skin— Irritation.

Inhalation—Irritation to respiratory tract.  May cause irregular breathing if inhaled.

Ingestion—Gastric or intestinal disorder.

Emergency and First Aid Procedures. 

Eyes—Flush eyes with water for at least 15 minutes.  Get immediate medial attention.

Skin—Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.

Inhalation—Remove to fresh air.  If breathing has stopped, give artificial respiration.  Get medical attention.

Ingestion—Call a physician immediately!  Do not induce vomiting.  Give 1-2 glasses of water to dilute.  If vomiting occurs spontaneously, keep head below hips to prevent aspiration of liquid into the lungs.  Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.  Get immediate medical attention.

Section VII – Precautions For Safe Handling and Use

Steps to be Taken in Case Material is Released or Spilled.

Ensure adequate ventilation to avoid breathing vapors.  Wear protective equipment to prevent contact and vapors.  Dispose only with required governmental permits.  Neutralize the acid to a safe level.

Waste Disposal Method – Dispose of residue in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.

Precautions to be Taken in Handling and Storing –

Storage in an area restricted to competent personnel only is recommended.  Keep containers tightly sealed.  Store in a cool, dry place.   Open and handle container with CA wear the personal protective equipment called for.  There are no special requirements for storerooms.

Respiratory Protection (Specify Type) –

During use wear full face protection and respirator if needed to completely avoid contact with sprayed product.  Keep upwind of spray.

Protective Gloves –

Impervious gloves, PVC recommended.

Eye Protection –

Safety glasses, or tightly sealed goggles if spray is present.

Other protective Clothing or Equipment – Impervious PVC apron to keep liquid of clothes.

Work/Hygienic Practices – Observe good hygiene.  Wash hands thoroughly after eating, drinking, and using restrooms, etc.
