Signs and Symptoms of Exposure:

Eyes—Product is severe irritant. May cause burns and blindness through contact.

Skin—Corrosive to the skin. Harmful if absorbed through the skin. May cause severe irritation or burns on prolonged contact.

Inhalation— May be harmful if inhaled. Exposure to mist or liquid can produce burns of the respiratory tract, resulting in coughing, burning of the throat and choking sensation.

Ingestion—Not a likely source of chronic exposure.

Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated –None known

Emergency and First Aid Procedures. 

Eyes—Flush eyes with water for 15 minutes.  Hold the eye lids apart during the flushing. Do not attempt to neutralize with chemical agents.  Obtain medical attention as soon as possible.  Oils or ointment should not be used.  Continue the flushing for an additional 15 minutes if the physician is not immediately available.

Skin—Immediately remove contaminated clothing under safety shower. Do not attempt to neutralize with chemical agents Wash skin with soap and water until gone. 

Inhalation— Remove from contaminated atmosphere. If breathing has ceased, clear the victim’s airway and start mouth to mouth artificial respiration, which may be supplemented by the use of bag-mask respirator, or manually triggered oxygen supply capable of delivering 1 liter/second or more. If victim is breathing, oxygen may be administered from demand-type or continuous-flow inhalator, preferably with a physician’s advise.

Ingestion— May be fatal or harmful if swallowed. Can cause damage to mucous membranes of the mouth, esophagus and stomach.

Dilute by giving large amounts of water or milk.  Get medical attention.  DO NOT induce vomiting.

Section VII – Precautions For Safe Handling and Use

Steps to be Taken in Case Material is Released or Spilled.

To contain spilled material, dike area involved. Neutralize with soda ash (sodium carbonate), lime (calcium hydroxide) or limestone (calcium carbonate). To absorb product, use porous material such as diatomaceous earth, sand or a commercial absorbent. Using a shovel, place into leak proof containers.

Waste Disposal Method – Dispose of residue in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.

Precautions to be Taken in Handling and Storing –.

Store in a tightly closed container. Do not store near oxidizers, alkalies, acids and bleach. Do not mix with other chemicals. Store away from excessive heat. Do not freeze. Keep away from food stuff.

Other Precautions – KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
